Monica Anderson
Monica is a versatile journalist, author, motivational speaker, and Doctor of Dental Surgery. Her debut novel, When A Sistah's Fed Up, is an Essence and Dallas Morning News Bestseller. She has also authored two non-fiction books: Black English Vernacular and Mom, Are We There Yet? In 1996, she became the first African-American columnist for the Arlington Star-Telegram. She was a weekly columnist for one of the leading daily newspapers in Texas, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram for seven years. Her editorials have appeared in various newspapers across the country including: the Seattle Times, the San Jose Mercury News, and the Courier-Journal of Louisville, KY. In 1999, the staff of the Fort Worth Weekly named her “Best Columnist” in Tarrant County. Dr. Moe is the former host of Perpetual Moe-tion, a weekly cable television talk show. As a third generation member of the international organization, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. this Texas native donates her time and resources to countless nonprofit endeavors in her community. She is also a member of The Divine Literary Tour, a first-of-its-kind event uniting authors from Black Greek letter organizations to share the diversity and richness of African-American literature in a cross-country tour. Moe has been the recipient of numerous awards, including: Outstanding Young Women of America, the "Outstanding Young Alumni" Award from the Alumni Association of Baylor University, the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Fort Worth Independent School District, and the Millennium Award for Medicine from Altrusa International, Inc. Murphy. In Dallas, Skip Murphy is “King.” Skip Murphy & Co. is celebrating
their 10-year anniversary on the air at K104fm. The main theme is: “Family”.
It’s the reason people all across the Metroplex tune in each weekday
morning from 5:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. Skip Murphy is well-known in this
area for his commitment to family, whether it’s through “Skip’s Kids”…where
he personally accompanies kids to entertainment events, whether it’s
putting in air conditioning units in the homes of elderly citizens,
donating money and items to families in need or through loss of items
through disaster or fire…or whether it’s speaking to a “Rally for Education”
to students reminding them of the importance of getting an education.
He participates in area school programs and projects, celebrity bowl-a-thons
for scholarships and gives of his time and talents to a number of community
organizations, such as UNCF, Operation Relief, Martin Luther King Center
activities, church functions, or just holding the hand of someone who
wants to tell him their problems. Skip Murphy is all of that…and then
some. One would be hard-pressed to find anything negative to say about
Skip Murphy. His community involvement and commitment are the reasons

Tamara Johnson,
also known as A’Dream (Attitudes Driving the Reinforcements of Extraordinary
and Awesome Miracles) is a poet, songwriter, singer, and actress that
lives in the Dallas area. She was born in Dallas but moved around to
6 different states before moving to Oklahoma to finish high school.
A graduate of Prairie View A&M University, Tamara has worked in the
non-profit arena for over 6 years. In 1999 she started her own company,
For You Poetry For All Occasions, where she customizes poetry pieces
for various occasions and publishes her own music. Her music reflects
her deep roots in gospel but has an R&B/Neo Soul edge and can be heard

She is currently the newest team member of Big Thought, one of the largest
arts education non-profits in the country. There she serves as a Program
Manger for Young Audiences consulting with artists and teachers.
In October 1997, Randy moved west to KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City, where he spent six years as an investigative and senior reporter. He earned a bachelors degree in Speech Communications from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where he attended college on a football scholarship, while lettering in each of his four years, and was awarded “All Conference” honors. Randy has received numerous awards for his journalism work, including Associated Press and Civic honors, the most recent is the 2003 Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters 1st place award for enterprising reporting for an investigation on the price of healthcare for Oklahoma City jails. He’s been a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, Urban League, Rotary International, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. Randy enjoys weightlifting, sports, writing poetry, public speaking, swimming and traveling. Randy is a diehard, Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan. He is married, and has one child.
Jennifer Kindert
Ronald McDonald Ronald will share with the audience his love for books and reading. During the show he will give tips to kids on how to care for books. Monique Ridge-Williams, a Dallas native, earned her Bachelor of Arts from Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas. She later moved to California, where she met her husband of ten years and earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from the California Institute of the Arts. Monique has been featured in various screen projects including "Under One Roof" starring James Earl Jones, "Touched by an Angel" with Della Reese, "NYPD Blue," "Chicago Hope," "The Steve Harvey Show," "Primary Colors" starring John Travolta and several HBO films. Additional stage credits include "Medea," "The Heiress," "The Seagull," "Colored Museum," "Colored Girls," "Trojan Women," "Purlie, "Victorious" with Soul Rep Theatre and a host of other productions African American Museum
